Autumn) (former: Big Data & Data Management Expo) and 2nd
Direct Commerce Solutions Expo (DIREX Autumn).
The 7
exhibitions allowed visiting professionals to seek solutions to aid
future business, exhibiting firms to launch new products, technologies,
services etc. and for the two parties to negotiate and make new business
relations with one another.
In parallel to the 7 exhibitions, 33 Technical Conference sessions were held throughout the show period, serving as a venue for experts to share the latest technology trends, market insights, hints to utilise new technologies and solutions for business. Growing show serving as a great venue to find IT solutions for business
Overall the show gathered 426 exhibitors, 31,706 professional visitors, 9,305 conference attendees from Japan, Asia and the world. From the launch of the show 5 years ago, Japan IT Week Autumn has continued to grow and this year, there was a 40% growth in overall show scale in comparison to previous edition. As though to confirm the lively atmosphere of the show ground, exhibitor, visitor and conference attendee numbers increased and were all record breaking figures since the launch of the show. (Exhibitor numbers: 33% increase, Visitor numbers: 23%, Conference attendees: 27% increase)

Information security is key
The number of cyber-attacks in Japan is continually increasing every year and so is the need for information security. Information Security Expo (IST Autumn) served as the platform to seek new solutions for firms and organisations to find new ways to up their information security. Major firms of the field such as FIREEYE, F5 NETWORKS JAPAN, D.O.S, MOTEX, INTERCOM etc. showcased their latest technologies and services.
To get further tips to up information security, the Information Security Expo Special Session was held in parallel to the show by FireEye talking about “The next evolution of security: Adaptive Defense” and F5 Networks on “Next Generation Threat Prevention: Security Strategies for Datacenter to Address Paradigm Shifts in Cyber-security”

Informative conference sessions to catch the latest trends and
business tips
In order for show participants to get the latest technology trends, future outlook on the industry, markets and catch new ideas and tips on how to succeed, Japan IT Week Autumn held various Technical Conference sessions during the show.
Keynote session was one of the sessions that attracted much attention among conference attendees with a great line-up of speakers. MICROSOFT JAPAN discussed “Use of Cloud Computing in 2020 and the Road from Now: Changes in the Purpose of Enterprise Cloud Computing from Cost Reduction to Value Creation” followed by ORACLE on “The Future of Cloud: Oracles View on Cloud” and SALESFORCE.COM held a talk on “Global Customer Success Platform”.
Other leading firms also held sessions at the Technical Conference such as: IBM JAPAN, SAP JAPAN, BOX, CISCO SYSTEMS, MINISTRY OF ECONOMY TRADE AND INDUSTRY, MINISTRY OF INTERNAL FAIRS AND COMMUNICATION, TOKYO UNIVERSITY, ACCENTURE, IDC FRONTIER etc.

Wide range of smartphone/mobile apps and solutions
The telecommunication business sector is forecasted to further attract business thus the 4th Web & Mobile Marketing Expo (Web-Mo Autumn) and 4th Smartphone & Mobile Expo (SMARTPHONE Autumn) were two of the most busiest shows out of the 7 exhibitions of Japan IT Week Autumn 2014. Many of the major firms of the web/mobile marketing and smartphone field from Japan exhibited such as SONY, PANASONIC, NTT COMMUNICATIONS, NIFTY etc. The two shows were packed throughout the 3-day show period with professionals seeking the latest products, technologies and services for smartphones and web & mobile marketing. This year, various firms, to name a few, PLAN-B, FROM SCRATCH, GEO-CODE, MAVERICK etc. were showcasing exhibits related to advertising technology. At the next edition of Web & Mobile Marketing Expo at Japan IT Week Spring http://www.japan-it.jp/en/ there will be a new zone launched specially featuring technologies and services specialising in ad tech and it is planned to also be launched in next year’s Autumn edition of the show too.

The representative from LINE also held a talk on “Smartphone Marketing Promoted by LINE: New Relationship between Consumers and Businesses through LINE Business Connect”
The Smartphone & Mobile Expo Special Session was led by Internet Initiative Japan discussing “The Future of Mobile Business: Changes Made by MVNO” and NIFTY talking about “How to Deal with the Shifts that "Mobile Devices" and "Cloud Computing" will Bring into Our Society”

The e-commerce and online retail business are currently booming in Japan. Increasing number of manufacturers and retailers interested in investing in e-commerce business and due to the popular use of smartphones, purchasing patterns of consumers are changing and retailers are looking to take new Omni-channel marketing strategies. 2nd Direct Commerce Solutions Expo (DIREX Autumn) served as a platform for professionals to seek and compare the latest technologies, services and solutions to aid such business. National Pavilions
Australia and Poland exhibited as national pavilions gathering technologies and solutions unique to their country.
The Australia pavilion was launched for the first time at the Japan IT Week show series as well as being the first time ever to hold a pavilion in an IT trade show in Japan. 16 firms gathered from Melbourne, Victoria an area with one of the largest R&D clusters in the southern hemisphere, providing world leading, commercially focused ICT research. Participating firms were: BUSINESS INTELLIGENCE TECHNOLOGIES, ETRANSLATE, EXABLAZE, GENIX VENTURES, LOOKATME (MEDIA EQUATION), MESSAGEEXCHANGE, MIGENIUS, OPTOTECH PTY, PAPERCUT SOFTWARE INTERNATIONAL, PEERCORE INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY, PODZY, PROXIMITI, SENETAS CORPORATION, SENKO ADVANCED COMPONENTS AUSTRALIA, STREAMLINE SOLUTIONS, TRIMBLE PLANNING SOLUTIONS, YELLOWFIN INTERNATIONAL, ZOYU DIGITAL. The organiser of the Australian pavilion - Victorian Government ICT Trade Mission to Japan revealed that “Participating at the show has definitely got something for us to build on in Japan”
It was the second time for Poland to hold a national pavilion at Japan IT Week this year. 10 firms participated CLOUD SOLUTION CENTER, FIBAR GROUP, HUM CLUB CLUSTER, HUMANETWORK, KALIOP POLSKA, MLABS, MPAY, VELIS IT SYSTEMS, VERSOFT SAFE SYSTEMS, WENIGER SOFTWARE HOUSE.

The next edition of Japan IT Week will be held next spring from May
13-15, 2015 at Tokyo Big Sight, Japan. The show is expecting 85,000
professional visitors and 1,550 exhibitors from all over Japan, Asia and
