ATLANTA--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Today email marketing company MailChimp, as the first act of its investment group Karman Line Ventures, LLC, invested $2 million into Mosley Ventures’ fund.
MailChimp employs about 300 people in Atlanta and aims to empower businesses with its email products. With this investment, the company will support new businesses in a different way.
“This is a great opportunity for MailChimp to invest in some promising Atlanta businesses,” says MailChimp CFO Jenny Bloom. “We’re hopeful that our investment in Mosley Ventures’ fund will help more startups grow, which is important to us as a company.”
“As an entrepreneur, I know how hard it is to build a business. Thanks to this fund, a number of new businesses will go on to do important things,” says MailChimp CEO and co-founder Ben Chestnut.
MailChimp has invested more than $3 million into its own integration fund to support developers who build on the MailChimp platform, but this is the company’s first investment in a venture capital fund.
"We’re pleased to have MailChimp as an investor in our fund,” says Mosley Ventures managing partner Sig Mosley. “We think this partnership will make a very strong impact in the Atlanta technology community."
