NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Cupcake Digital, Inc. has partnered with Peanuts Worldwide, LLC to develop exciting new digital applications starring favorite characters from the iconic franchise. The agreement covers a range of digital publishing and activity apps for fans around the world. Among the first releases planned are enhanced storybook apps based on the classic Peanuts artwork featuring Charlie Brown, Snoopy and the gang targeted for kids ages 3-7 years and tweens. Cupcake will also create apps surrounding the much-anticipated release of the Peanuts Movie in 2015.

The first enhanced storybook app with activities based on the classic “Kick the Football” storyline is slated for release in November 2014 to capitalize on the brand’s association with seasonal holidays and social expression. All apps will be available on the App Store, Amazon Appstore for Android and Google Play, as well as for NOOK and Nabi devices for $1.99 – 2.99.
“The growth of digital publishing and the app market is very exciting and makes a ton of sense for the new direction we’re taking with the brand, said Leigh Anne Brodsky, Managing Director, Peanuts Worldwide and Iconix Entertainment. “Partnering with a leading kids app developer like Cupcake Digital ensures we’ll deliver the high quality and innovative technology that will continue to propel this brand into new territory in the digital book and apps space.”
