NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--The world’s no.1 premium Italian beer, Peroni Nastro Azzurro, last night announced the launch of its tribute to Vogue Italia, the world’s leading voice of Italian style. The exhibition, entitled Peroni Nastro Azzurro Celebrates The Visionary World of Vogue Italia was unveiled to a full house at Industria in New York City. A not-to-be-missed digital version of the exhibition premieres today online at visionaryworld.vogue.it
The new exhibition is inspired by the Vogue Italia’s 50th anniversary and is curated by the magazine’s editor-in-chief Franca Sozzani. It features 30 videos that capture the magazine’s wit, provocation and intelligence. Famed film director Baz Luhrmann, who features in the exhibition was in attendance, along with models Carolyn Murphy, Nina Agdal and Constance Jablonski, actor Zachary Quinto, photographer Ellen von Unwerth and stylist Giovanna Battaglia.
Viewers discover a backstage perspective on compelling individuals who have been featured in the magazine or contributed to its content. Photographers, artists, actors, models, designers, musicians and architects are seen from a unique point of view. Behind-the-scenes footage reveals an intimate portrait of the publication’s journey.
Highlights include Miles Aldridge’s hypnotic shots in saturated colors; art by Vanessa Beecroft and Marina Abramović; models and muses such as Mariacarla Boscono and Eva Herzigova; icons of cinema including Quentin Tarantino, Oliver Stone and Michael Fassbender; cult designers such as Manolo Blahnik and Philip Treacy. Each video gives audiences insight into what makes Vogue Italia a powerful force for Italian style.
“Vogue Italia is delighted to be collaborating with Peroni Nastro Azzurro on such a rewarding project. The exhibition is the first of its kind and I have selected very special moments from our rich history of working with extremely talented artists.” Said Franca Sozzani, editor-in-chief, Vogue Italia,
Over the decades, Vogue Italia has been revered for perfectly capturing the zeitgeist of the moment - be it fashion, society, economics or politics. It is known for its visually arresting approach, and intelligent, game-changing content. Like Vogue Italia, Peroni Nastro Azzurro was born in 1960's; an era synonymous with style, creativity and prosperity. Keeping true to its roots in Italian style, Peroni Nastro Azzurro is frequently found on catwalks or in conversation with innovators of Italian design, cuisine or cinema.
“Vogue Italia and Peroni Nastro Azzurro share a passion for style, which forms common ground for our collaboration,” said Claudia Falcone, Global Brand Director, Peroni Nastro Azzurro, “Through this partnership we will honour the past, and also support the future of Italian style.” 2015 partnership plans include a global search to discover and nurture the next generation of fashion design style makers.
The Visionary World of Vogue Italia runs 15-22 October at Industria, Studio 10 in New York, and 16-31 October at Holt Renfrew in Toronto.
