Newegg Opens High-Tech Indiana Warehouse to Better Serve the Midwestern U.S.

Lt. Governor Welcomes Commerce and Jobs at Indianapolis Shipping Center Launch Ceremony

LOS ANGELES--()--Newegg, the leading e-retailer of technology in North America, officially opened its new high-tech warehouse and shipping facility today in Indianapolis. During a ribbon-cutting ceremony this afternoon, Lt. Governor Sue Ellspermann officially welcomed Newegg to Indiana and set the brand new shipping center in motion. The center will add jobs and provide customers greatly improved service.

“I’m very excited to welcome Newegg to Indianapolis,” said Lt. Governor Ellspermann. “This new warehouse facility not only benefits Indiana shoppers with faster order fulfillment, but also demonstrates Indiana’s ongoing support of commerce and job creation.”

More than just a typical warehouse, Newegg’s new facility features cutting-edge package-picking technologies that greatly streamline the order fulfillment process. The new warehouse itself encompasses nearly a half-million square feet and can handle more than 5,000 products and 3,000 orders per day. Once all aspects of the facility are fully operational, inventory will increase to more than 20,000 products with a processing capacity of more than 12,000 orders every day.

“The opening of this fulfillment center is a great development for new and current customers of Newegg,” said Soren Mills, Chief Marketing Officer for Newegg North America. “We’re very grateful for the enthusiastic reception Indianapolis has given Newegg and look forward to providing better, quicker service to Newegg customers throughout the Midwest.”

Newegg estimates the opening will allow about 45 million people in the Midwestern U.S. to get their Newegg orders faster than ever. In addition to Indiana, customers in Illinois, Iowa, Kentucky, Michigan, Minnesota, North Dakota, South Dakota, Ohio, Wisconsin and West Virginia will see the greatest benefit, with noticeably shorter delivery times.
