Update: Mitigation Solutions USA Announces Muddy Boggy Conservation Bank Expansion

Mitigation Solutions USA purchased additional property to expand habitat acreage of the Oklahoma American Burying Beetle Muddy Boggy Conservation Bank.

HOUSTON--()--Mitigation Solutions USA (MSUSA) recently purchased 579 acres adjacent to the Muddy Boggy Conservation Bank in Oklahoma. This parcel, currently in the initial permitting phase, will add approximately 523 American Burying Beetle (ABB) credit acres. MSUSA is also developing approximately 11,000-additional acres to cover the ABB Southern Service Area. “Initial ABB surveys and habitat assessments indicate that the tract is slated to be one of the premier blocks of protected ABB habitat in the state. The tract could serve as a significant stepping stone to achieving the specie’s recovery,” explained Courtney Greer, Advanced Ecology Ecological Market Developer. With an increase in acreage and the development of a new bank, MSUSA is on the road to significantly expand and protect Oklahoma ABB habitat.

The credits generated from the properties will help offset any environmental impacts within the area. The newly added credits will be a valuable tool for major industries with projects in Oklahoma: transportation, pipelines, and oil & gas.

Why purchase conservation credits?

“Purchasing credits from an approved conservation bank offers the developer peace of mind,” explains MSUSA Vice President Troy Madrigal. “Since the liability for the restoration and preservation of the bank is transferred to the bank sponsor, purchasers can buy credits and move on with their projects in an efficient fashion.”
