MINNEAPOLIS--(BUSINESS WIRE)--VigiLanz, a digital healthcare technology company headquartered in Minneapolis, announced today the appointment of Patrick Spangler as Chief Financial Officer.
Mr. Spangler joins VigiLanz with over 35 years of experience in financial management and over 28 years in the health care IT and medical device industries. Before joining VigiLanz, he served as Chief Financial Officer of Healthland, Inc., a nationwide provider of comprehensive enterprise software for rural and critical access hospitals. Prior to his tenure at Healthland, he served as SVP and CFO for Epocrates, a public company purchased by athenahealth which delivered the leading mobile drug reference application, supporting more than fifty percent of U.S. physicians on a daily basis. He also served as SVP and CFO of ev3, Inc., a public company purchased by Covidien, serving the neurovascular and peripheral vascular markets. Prior to ev3 he served in various capacities at Medtronic Inc.

Mr. Spangler has a Bachelor’s of science degree in accounting from the University of Minnesota, a Master of Business Taxation from the University of Minnesota, and a Master of Business Administration from University of Chicago. He also serves on the Board of Directors of Urologix Inc. (NASDAQ: ULGX), a Minneapolis-based provider of medical products.
