Maryland Comptroller Peter Franchot Offers New Mobile-Friendly Tax Payment Service

ANNAPOLIS, Md.--()--With the launch of the new, mobile-friendly Comptroller Online Tax Payment Service from Comptroller Peter Franchot, it has never been more convenient for Marylanders to pay their taxes online. This new payment processing service streamlines and expedites tax payments made to the Comptroller of Maryland’s office and helps diminish the manual, paper-filing and payment process. The Comptroller Online Tax Payment Service can be accessed through the State’s official website, www.maryland.gov or through the Comptroller of Maryland’s website, at http://www.marylandtaxes.com/.

“The Comptroller’s office is pleased to provide this new online service for Maryland taxpayers,” said Rhea Reed, Director of the Comptroller’s Revenue Administration Division. “We are always looking for ways to make it more convenient for Marylanders to interact with our office and this service is the latest addition to a large range of online services from the Comptroller’s office.”

The Comptroller Online Tax Payment Service accepts all major credit cards and allows both citizens and business owners to pay for their taxes, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, via the Web, or from any smartphone or mobile device. Paying online provides Maryland taxpayers with a more convenient way to pay their taxes and increases payment compliance within the Comptroller’s office. Payments may be made for the following tax types:

  • Estimated Personal Income Tax
  • Personal Income Tax
  • Extension Income Tax
  • Existing Liability/Established Debt
  • Sales and Use Tax
  • Withholding Tax

Customer and technical support representatives are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to provide support via email, phone and live chat in the event a taxpayer needs any additional assistance. The Comptroller Online Tax Payment Service was developed at no charge for the Comptroller of Maryland by NIC Maryland, through the self-funded eGovernment services contract with the State Department of Information Technology (DoIT).
