WASHINGTON--(BUSINESS WIRE)--The American Dental Education Association (ADEA) is pleased to announce the launch of its new ADEA GoDental website at www.adea.org/GoDental. ADEA GoDental is intended to provide students considering a career in dentistry or dental hygiene the information and guidance they need to apply to programs, matriculate and eventually fulfill their career goals. The new website features intuitive navigation, a modern design, customized information for students interested in dentistry and dental hygiene and dedicated resources for health professions advisors.
“The new ADEA GoDental site offers dynamic content and an engaging platform to inform prospective students of their options when considering a career in an oral health profession,” says ADEA Board Chair Lily T. Garcia, D.D.S., M.S., FACP. “The website is part of ADEA’s larger strategic initiative to reach students from a variety of backgrounds and cultivate the dental and dental hygiene workforce to meet the evolving oral health needs of a diverse society.”
Acting upon its mission to Inspire, Inform and Guide, ADEA GoDental will inspire students with blog posts by current students, dentists, admissions officers and other key mentors; inform students about the practice options and specialties available in dentistry and dental hygiene; and guide students through the application process to help them prepare both academically and financially.
Students and advisors can access the website’s new interactive map highlighting all U.S. public and private dental schools, an overview of the history of dentistry, compelling reasons to pursue a career as a dentist or dental hygienist and financial planning resources such as the AAMC/ADEA Dental Loan Organizer and Calculator.
This initiative comes at a time when U.S. News & World Report lists Dentist as #1 on its 2013 list of “100 Best Jobs,” and lists Dentist as #1 and Dental Hygienist as #7 among this year’s “Best Health Care Jobs.”
