O’Brien joins DNAnexus from Oracle’s Health Sciences Global Business Unit, where he led the Americas healthcare sales team. He will be responsible for building and managing the DNAnexus enterprise sales organization and developing the company’s go-to-market sales strategy.

At Oracle, O’Brien led the team selling the company’s Healthcare Analytics and Translational Research platform, which enables the secondary use of clinical, research, administrative and financial data. Prior, O’Brien held sales and sales management positions at IDBS, Infotrieve and Life Technologies. Earlier in his career, O’Brien helped build the commercial operations of InforMax, a provider of data management, gene expression and genomic analysis solutions, playing key roles in sales and sales management during scale up, IPO and acquisition phases. O’Brien holds a B.A. from the University of Colorado at Boulder.
