Michael Mannetti Named Post University Athletic Director

Mannetti Is Currently Post’s Interim Athletic Director

WATERBURY, Conn.--()--Post University President Dr. Don Mroz has announced that Michael Mannetti has been named the institution’s Athletic Director after serving the past year in an interim role. Mannetti will also continue to serve as the head coach of Post’s sprint football team.

“After an extensive search and many interviews, what became apparent was that we had the best candidate for the position with Mike Mannetti,” Mroz said. “As we learned last year, Mike is a good thinker, has great ideas, cares deeply about Post and our student athletes, and sets a tone of professionalism which greatly influences our students, coaches, and all others associated with athletics and Post University.”

Under Mannetti’s leadership, the athletic department boasted its most All-Americans in school history, with three in 2013-14. He has been instrumental in helping launch Post’s two newest programs, women’s bowling and golf. Mannetti will serve on the President’s Leadership Council and continue his work as the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) women’s track and field sport supervisor.

“I appreciate the confidence Dr. Mroz and the rest of the search committee has in me and very much look forward to continuing my work with the students, coaches, staff, and others within the Post community,” Mannetti said.

In two years as the sprint football coach, Mannetti has compiled a 9-5 record, including a program-best five-game win streak to close out the 2012 season. The Eagles have finished third in the CSFL the last two seasons in both total offense and total defense. Mannetti has coached 40 student-athletes to All-CSFL honors including eight First Team honorees.

“It’s been an exciting year for me and Post athletics and I am truly grateful for the opportunity to lead our athletic department into its next chapter of success,” added Mannetti.
