GRAPEVINE, Texas--(BUSINESS WIRE)--GameStop, a family of specialty retail brands that makes the most popular technologies affordable and simple, is exclusively partnering with Twitch, the world’s leading video platform and community for gamers, to broadcast live from the annual consumer video gaming show, GameStop EXPO. Gaming fans that want to catch all the announcements and action, but may not be able to make it to the Anaheim Convention Center in CA on September 10, will be able to watch the event exclusively via Twitch.
Twitch will stream live from the primary stage, featuring news as it happens from the show floor, games from marquee publishers, tournament play and interviews with industry leaders, developers and special guests. Gamers will be able to access the stream at www.Twitch.tv/GameStop and through their Xbox One and PlayStation®4 consoles and via the Twitch app on their mobile devices. EXPO attendees will also be welcome to watch the Twitch team live in Hall C-D on the show floor.
“With its ability to reach more than 45 million unique viewers in its gamer-focused community, Twitch is the premier live video platform and we are happy to partner with them to bring the excitement of our EXPO to gamers that can’t attend the show,” said Bob Puzon, senior vice president of merchandising at GameStop.
EXPO 2014 will offer access to more than 300,000 square feet of video gaming fun and technologies, including the latest consoles, upcoming games from top developers, such as Activision Blizzard, Electronic Arts, Microsoft, Sony Computer Entertainment of America, Take-Two Interactive, and Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment, thought-provoking panels with industry elite, and celebrity signing opportunities.
“GameStop is producing a lot of compelling content at this year's EXPO which our community will definitely appreciate,” said Ernest Le, Director, Publisher & Developer Partnerships, Twitch. “So shining a global spotlight on this historically private event for the first time ever is a big deal.”
