FALLS CHURCH, Va.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--CSC (NYSE: CSC), a global leader in next-generation IT services and solutions, today announced a new opportunity for clients to accelerate their adoption of cloud solutions with the SAP HANA® platform.
Working with SAP (NYSE: SAP) and in collaboration with CSC’s global consulting practice and applications modernization partnership with HCL Technologies, a leading global IT services provider, CSC will develop a broad set of innovative end-to-end cloud solutions. These solutions are designed to help companies quickly and easily move to the cloud to gain new insights, engage customers and partners in new ways, and help unleash new operating models that can drive profitability and advantage. The initial market focus will be on banking, engineering, construction and operations, and public sector social services solutions, with other industries expected to follow.
“Customers want greater innovation, optionality, speed and agility from their IT applications and are turning to hybrid cloud solutions to achieve value quickly,” said CSC’s Jim Smith, executive vice president & general manager, Global Business Services. “Leveraging our global-scale applications modernization collaboration with HCL along with the power of SAP HANA, we will help clients quickly adopt new processes and capabilities that enhance overall competitiveness.”
SAP Solution-based Enterprise Optimization
CSC will offer an enhanced range of SAP solution-enabled private cloud and hybrid cloud platforms including SAP HANA, facilitated by CSC’s ServiceMesh Agility Platform™, to enable simplification, standardization, upgrade and migration of SAP solutions. It is anticipated that clients will benefit from the latest technologies, including SAP HANA, supported by a range of leading third-party landscape-optimization tools.
For customers using SAP solutions, CSC will deliver a full range of cloud capabilities that is planned to include:
- Rapidly deployable SAP-centric industry solutions that can be assembled to order, combining business content from CSC and SAP;
- Accelerated build-out of Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) portfolio capabilities, particularly for SuccessFactors, Ariba and hybris solutions; and
- Planned introduction of CSC Cloud solutions – powered by Hitachi Data Systems – for SAP HANA.
“CSC and SAP have been partnering for 30 years, bringing value and innovation to customers around the world,” said Simon Paris, president, Industry Cloud Organization, SAP. “Customers expect value to be delivered more securely and quicker than ever, and their IT solutions to be able to move at the pace of business. CSC has embraced SAP’s expansion to the cloud and the SAP platform solutions. Building on this investment and the expertise we gained collaborating in the banking industry, SAP is looking forward to working together with CSC in an effort to help more customers adopt industry-based cloud solutions.”
Nick Mayes, research director at leading analyst firm Pierre Audoin Consultants, said: “The move towards more agile cloud-based delivery models will be one of the biggest challenges for clients in the next five years. We believe that many will look to leverage the experience of external services providers like CSC to help manage the risk in this transition and to fully exploit emerging cloud opportunities.”
Banking in the Cloud
CSC and SAP have cooperated to define a new global strategy for their banking software and services offerings that is intended to help reduce the risk, implementation time, and cost of modernizing business processes and IT environments.
Starting with deposits and loans leveraging SAP’s world-class solutions, the initial solution aimed at the banking industry will be based on the CSC Cloud and orchestrated cloud management provided by the ServiceMesh Agility Platform. The solution will be designed to address the customer-centric experience across all channels while helping to manage regulatory reporting and risk, driving efficiency, and delivering greater choice of prioritizing transformation. It is expected that benefits will be achieved particularly related to integrated risk and finance, real-time data analytics, regulatory compliance, scale and security, application modernization, and lower overall total cost of ownership.
“For CSC, this is a natural evolution of our existing banking initiative with SAP to deliver a growing portfolio of cloud-enabled solutions powered by SAP HANA wherever appropriate,” said CSC’s Mike Steinharter, vice president & general manager, Banking & Capital Markets Industry. “Our collective vision is to help enable clients to drive profitable growth through cost savings, greater agility and innovation, and a superior customer experience in transforming to the cloud.”
