WAYNESBORO, Va.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Lumos Networks Corp. (“Lumos Networks” or the “Company”) (Nasdaq: LMOS), a leading fiber-based provider of data, voice and IP-based telecommunication services in the Mid-Atlantic region, has expanded its services to Spilman, Thomas & Battle (“Spilman”), a full service regional law firm with locations in West Virginia, Pennsylvania, North Carolina and Virginia. Lumos Networks customized a Metro Ethernet solution to provide reliable, high-speed networked communication among Spilman’s seven sites and is in the process of migrating the firm from a PRI line to SIP trunking for improved voice traffic. Spilman has been a customer of the Company since 2002.
“Working with Spilman wasn’t a case of implementing a one size fits all, out of the box solution; that's just not the way that Lumos works,” said Dustin O. Davies, Chief Technology Officer for Spilman, Thomas & Battle.” The firm’s priorities were increased reliability and better communication and Lumos Networks has done an excellent job of creating a system that meets our needs, speaks specifically to our concerns and reduces costs.”
“Spilman, Thomas & Battle needed a system that could handle inter-office collaboration, the transfer of complex documents and frequent videoconferencing without latency,” said Joseph McCourt, Chief Revenue Officer for Lumos Networks. “We were happy to develop a secure, fast and customized Ethernet solution and to improve ROI for the firm via an upgraded SIP trunking network.”
