ChannelAdvisor Digital Marketing Now Supports Google’s Shopping Campaigns

Google and ChannelAdvisor to Co-Host Google Shopping Campaigns 101 Webinar, June 4

RESEARCH TRIANGLE PARK, N.C.--()--ChannelAdvisor Corporation (NYSE:ECOM), a leading provider of cloud-based e-commerce solutions that enable retailers and manufacturers to increase global sales, today announced support for Google’s Shopping campaigns through its Product Group Generator. Google’s Shopping campaigns are a new campaign type for Product Listing Ads (PLAs) that change how retailers manage and bid on products, as well as report on performance. The ChannelAdvisor Product Group Generator, part of ChannelAdvisor Digital Marketing, enables retailers to properly configure campaigns under this new structure and automatically segment products, creating an ad group with multiple levels of bidding.

“We find that retailers are often frustrated by the level of effort it takes to segment campaigns into the most strategic groups,” said Link Walls, ChannelAdvisor vice president of product management. “For instance, if you just bid by brand, you could have the same bid on high-end running shoes as you do for the shoelaces. We wanted to make it easier for retailers to maximize their return on ad spend and fine-tune their PLA performance.”

ChannelAdvisor tested manual ad group and product group creation for Shopping campaigns against the Product Group Generator to measure the efficiencies of the new technology. In this comparison, it took two minutes to manually build one ad group with two biddable product groups. Using the Product Group Generator, ChannelAdvisor was able to build the same structure across 75 ad groups in less than four minutes, which is 37 times faster than manually structuring a typical account.

“Our new Product Group Generator is an incredibly efficient way to manage Shopping campaigns,” said Thad Tremaine, ChannelAdvisor vice president of global services. “With ChannelAdvisor Product Group Generator, our customers are able to save hundreds of hours in manual effort and are better able to segment campaigns.”

Google’s Shopping campaigns will offer retailers a better way to promote products, but will also require some readjustment. To educate retailers on Shopping campaigns, Google and ChannelAdvisor are co-hosting a webinar, titled “Google Shopping Campaigns 101: Everything Retailers Need to Know About Google’s Latest Update,” on Wednesday, June 4 at 2 p.m. EDT. The webinar will include presentations from Nicole Premo, Google’s partner education manager for Shopping and emerging ads, and Jackie Jenkins, ChannelAdvisor’s senior product manager of digital marketing.
