SEATTLE--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Redfin (www.redfin.com), the customer-first real estate brokerage, today launched a completely redesigned version of the Redfin Real Estate App for iPhone that makes it even easier for house hunters to find their dream home while on the go. The updated app enables people to:
- share home listings with friends and family via Facebook messenger as announced at the Facebook f8 conference;
- navigate seamlessly to a map of homes, filter listings on the map and book a home tour with a Redfin agent from anywhere in the app; and
- view favorite homes, homes that Redfin recommends and new homes from saved searches, powered by the Redfin Instant Update technology, all in one place.
“When people are searching for their dream home, they want to be instantly notified when a home matching their desired criteria hits the market, to easily share details about that home with family and friends and to quickly schedule a tour of that home at a time that works for them,” said Andy Taylor, director of product at Redfin. “This redesign enables Redfin app customers to do all of that from the palm of their hand, giving them a leg up on other homebuyers out there who are competing for the same houses.”
The Redfin iPhone app is organized to help people find homes, visit homes and stay up to date on a fast-moving real estate market:
Find Homes: Search for Homes for Sale on the Multiple Listing Service
The “Find Homes” tab is where people can search for homes for sale (or sold homes) by location, property type, price and other key attributes. Once homes matching their search appear on the map, people can simply tap on a home icon to see a large photo with the home’s price, size and location, and then tap on the photo to see more details about the home.
Visit Homes: Schedule Tours Directly from the App
The “Visit Homes” tab is where people can keep track of homes they want to see in person, homes they have already toured and upcoming open houses they want to attend. Anyone can schedule a tour with a local Redfin real estate agent simply by clicking on “Go Tour This Home” from a home details page. Redfin is a customer-first real estate brokerage with agents who are available to take people out to tour homes seven days a week.
My Redfin: Stay Up to Date on Listings
The “My Redfin” tab gives customers easy access to the homes they are most interested in purchasing. Redfin built the same technology that powers Instant Updates on Redfin.com right into the app, so house hunters will know immediately when a home matching their search criteria lands on the market.
Redfin app customers can save their favorite homes and searches and sign up to receive mobile or email notifications about those homes and searches. Redfin will send an email or mobile push notification within 30 minutes of a home coming on the market or a change in status — price change, sale pending, etc.— to one of that customer’s favorites. In the “My Redfin” tab, people can view all of these homes, as well as homes that Redfin recommends based on their previous searches.
