ORLANDO, Fla.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Kony, Inc., the leading enterprise mobility company, today announced the appointment of John R. Joyce as chief financial officer (CFO) and vice chairman. Joyce served in a variety of senior posts during his 30-year career at IBM, which included successful stints as CFO, head of IBM Global Services and head of IBM’s Asia-Pacific operations. Following IBM, Joyce served as managing director at SilverLake, a leader in technology investing, and most recently served as the vice chairman and CFO of Silver Spring Networks. Joyce led Silver Spring Networks through a successful S1 and IPO process that culminated in its public offering in 2013 and continues to serve as vice chairman.
“John’s appointment demonstrates both the enormous potential and strategic relevance of mobility as well as the commitment Kony has to assemble an unrivaled executive team,” said Thomas E. Hogan, chief executive officer, Kony. “John brings an incredible breadth of financial acumen having successfully managed everything from a recent IPO through to the scale and complexity of IBM. Equally important is John’s experience as a technology general manager. He will play an important role in all aspects of our expansion by leveraging his experience with software, services and international markets, and his extensive network of clients, partners and suppliers. We could not be more pleased with this game changing addition to our team.”
“I have participated in multiple technology shifts during my 35-year career, but the rapid evolution of mobility and mobile applications is unique as it carries remarkable opportunities for growth, impact and value creation,” said Joyce. “Mobile applications are changing the very core of how we work and live and over time they will become an increasingly key business differentiator and ingredient for successful enterprises. With its rich history of growth, innovation and category leadership, combined with the caliber of leadership Tom is assembling, Kony is in the perfect place to capitalize on these exciting changes and that’s exactly why this opportunity was so compelling. I am thrilled to join this team and look forward to making major contributions to Kony’s continued success.”
