NUVI Names Vivint Co-Founder and Former President Keith Nellesen as Chief Executive Officer

  • NUVI Makes Strategic Changes to Its Executive Team to Reallocate Responsibilities

LINDON, Utah--()--NUVI™ (www.nuvi.com), a social analytics management and engagement company, today announced its appointment of NUVI Chairman Keith Nellesen to CEO, with former CEO David Oldham assuming a role as a member of the board. These changes will enable NUVI to continue on its rapid growth trajectory.

“NUVI has come so far in the past few years. I have been fortunate to have a hand in helping this company grow to what it is today as an investor and board member,” said Nellesen. “David's extraordinary vision, passion and leadership catapulted NUVI to this first stage of organizational growth, and we are grateful for his contributions. I look forward to taking a more active role to drive innovation and guide the company into its next phase of incredible growth."

Nellesen specializes in growing startups into valuable enterprises. Beginning his career in public accounting, Nellesen ventured into entrepreneurship when he co-founded Vivint — a home security, home automation and energy conservation company — where he served as the chief financial officer and president until 2009. Nellesen exited Vivint in 2012 when it was acquired for more than $2 billion by Blackstone. Nellesen also served as the CEO and co-founder of MoneyReef, a financial management application company focused on mobile, and oversaw its successful acquisition by MoneyDesktop in 2012.

"Starting NUVI and leading the company past the stages of growth where most startups fail has been a very rewarding experience," said David Oldham, founder and former NUVI CEO. "I am confident that NUVI will continue its aggressive growth trajectory, and I look forward to supporting the management team in my role on the company board."

Oldham led NUVI from inception to becoming a multi-million dollar company and has grown NUVI's customer base to include a variety of organizations, including Business Wire. The global leader in press release distribution — and a subsidiary of Berkshire Hathaway — recently added NUVI’s services to help subscribers better analyze the social impact of news announcements made over the news distribution service.

NUVI analyzes data from millions of sources, including Twitter, Facebook, YouTube, Google+, Delicious, Reddit, Vimeo, Flickr and more than 3 million RSS feeds. The data NUVI gathers is then presented in a visually intuitive, real-time display of conversations that measure influence and sentiment, allowing users to immediately engage their detractors and supporters as well as analyze the success of their advertising, public relations and marketing campaigns.
