WellDog Awarded $16.5MM in Gauge Contracts

BRISBANE, Queensland--()--WellDog Pty Ltd announced today that leading coal seam gas companies have awarded it approximately $16.5 million in contracts to supply and install its aquifer monitoring and gas production optimisation downhole gauge systems. These contracts confirm WellDog’s stature as the largest supplier of gauge systems in Australia, and one of the largest in the world.

“As our gauge business has grown we have continuously improved our manufacturing and field service procedures in order to increase installation success and optimise long term system performance,” WellDog CEO John Pope said.

“We offer the best performance value in the industry, and we’re quickly making it even better.

“We appreciate our customers’ continued confidence in our services and intend to work hard to warrant that confidence for the foreseeable future.”

In addition to the CSG contracts awarded, WellDog has successfully completed its first ResMonitor installations for conventional oil and gas applications, monitoring downhole pressure and temperature in the Cooper Basin. Additional systems are scheduled to be installed in the coming months.

WellDog’s AquaTracker systems are used to monitor aquifer water levels around coal seam gas developments, are typically deployed to monitor multiple aquifers in a single well, and can be retrieved during well life to service and upgrade sensors as required.

PressureTuner systems provide fluid level monitoring capabilities in production wells and can deliver autonomous control of artificial lift systems to maximize hydrocarbon production, while protecting pump assets and avoiding pressure shock to coal seams.

Both AquaTracker and PressureTuner systems are available in a variety of flexible and scalable system architectures, enabling cost effective, rugged, and tailored solutions that are fit-for-purpose for each operator’s needs.

WellDog’s industry leading staff of engineers specialise in designing and installing custom architectures that satisfy complex safety and performance requirements. The company’s proprietary quality control processes are designed to capture component defects before installation occurs and maximize installation success rates. And WellDog’s fleet of gauge system installation units and large, professional staff of highly trained installation experts are unrivalled in the region.

The company has recently exported its gauge business to the United States, where it has commenced installing high performance but affordable gauge systems in onshore shale gas and oil wells.
