BOCA RATON, Fla.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Modernizing Medicine announces that EMA version 4.0 has achieved ONC HIT 2014 Edition Complete EHR certification and EMA Mobile version 4.0 has achieved ONC HIT 2014 Edition Modular EHR certification. These certifications designate that the electronic health record (EHR) software is capable of supporting eligible providers and hospitals with meeting the Stage 1 and Stage 2 Meaningful Use measures required to qualify for funding under the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA). EMA version 4.0 and EMA Mobile version 4.0 were certified by ICSA Labs, an Office of the National Coordinator-Authorized Certification Body (ONC-ACB), and are compliant in accordance with applicable criteria adopted by the Secretary of Health and Human Services (HHS).
Modernizing Medicine is one of the first EHR system vendors to achieve ONC HIT 2014 Edition Modular Certification for a mobile device, offering the first ambulatory EHR system certified as a base modular application for the iPad.
According to the guidelines set forth by the ONC, Meaningful Use 2014 measures must support significantly higher levels of interoperability, patient access and advanced clinical processes. In addition to EMA’s new certifications, the electronic medical record (EMR) solution also features advanced functionality, including a highly sophisticated coding algorithm that can automate ICD-10 coding.

The clinical quality measures to which EMA 4.0 and EMA Mobile Version 4.0 have been certified include: CMS#56v2, CMS#66v2, CMS#68v3, CMS#75v2, CMS#90v3, CMS#127v2, CMS#138v2, CMS#139v2, CMS#147v2, CMS#156v2 and CMS#165v2.
The additional software relied upon to comply with one or more of the certification criteria for both EMA Mobile version 4.0 and EMA version 4.0 include: First Databank, LDM ConnectSys, Surescripts Rx Routing/Scripts and Updox Direct.
Modernizing Medicine charges certain one-time and ongoing fees for the use of its products; however, Modernizing Medicine does not currently separately charge eligible providers or hospitals additional fees specifically for the implementation of such products' certified capabilities. Modernizing Medicine may also offer certain "meaningful use" or other consulting services to its customers for which Modernizing Medicine may charge an additional fee.
