FRAMINGHAM, Mass. & BATTLE CREEK, Mich.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Ameresco, Inc., (NYSE:AMRC), a leading energy efficiency and renewable energy company, announced today the nearly $2.7 million City of Battle Creek Kellogg Arena facility energy savings performance contract (ESPC) project is underway. The project is designed to improve energy efficiency at the City’s Kellogg Arena and provide necessary infrastructure improvements. It is expected to be completed this fall.
“Ameresco recently completed the City of Battle Creek’s energy savings project at Full Blast Recreation Department, and we are confident that Ameresco will deliver the same quality of service, value, comprehensive approach and efficient results for the Kellogg Arena,” said Ted Dearing, General Manager, Battle Creek’s Kellogg Arena. “The City continues to take a proactive stance in reducing energy consumption and we feel by partnering with Ameresco, we can upgrade our facilities and also utilize taxpayer dollars in the most efficient, effective and environmentally responsible way.”
Some of the upgrades and energy conservation measures underway include: replacing the roof, renovating and replacing seats (bleacher mechanism replacement), LED exterior lighting retrofit, instituting water conservation measures, enhancing building envelop and replacing windows. These improvements are expected to enhance the comfort for the Arena guests. These measures were also designed to increase the efficient use of energy in the facility and to decrease the building’s emissions and carbon footprint.
”We are honored to continue our partnership with the City with an ESPC to enhance another important venue in downtown Battle Creek,” said Louis P. Maltezos, Executive Vice President, Ameresco. “Ameresco recently completed the Full Blast project delivering ongoing energy efficiency at the Center and significant financial, comfort and environmental benefits for the community. We expect to do the same for the Kellogg Arena, developing an efficiency project that improves the Arena’s infrastructure.”
Ameresco has a long history of partnering with communities across North America to improve energy infrastructure and install renewable energy technologies. Ameresco’s pioneering of the ESPC financing model has made the budget-neutral solution an increasingly popular option for customers, by providing energy efficiency upgrades using a guaranteed savings approach.
