Gerard Kiladjian Rejoins New Castle Hotels & Resorts to Lead The Cliff House Resort and Spa

OGUNQUIT, Maine & SHELTON, Conn.--()--Officials of New Castle Hotels & Resorts, a leading hotel owner, operator and developer, today named Gerard Kiladjian general manager of Maine's historic 166-room resort, The Cliff House Resort and Spa, which reopened today for its 142nd season. Earlier this month, New Castle assumed management under an agreement with Rockbridge which recently acquired the landmark.

Most recently, Kiladjian was the general manager of the AAA Four-diamond-rated Portland Harbor Hotel. He is a career hotelier who previously served New Castle-managed hotels in various capacities.

"Gerard's expertise managing high-end boutique hotels is exactly the right fit for this Maine landmark," said Gerry Chase, president and COO in making the announcement. "He is an outstanding hotelier who has honed his skills in this market for more than a decade and we're pleased to have him rejoin the New Castle team. He was truly the first and only choice for the job."

"I've admired The Cliff House ever since I came to Maine in 2000 as the general manager of the Hilton Garden Inn at the airport," said Kiladjian. "There was only one hospitality position in the entire state that would have enticed me to move from the Portland Harbor Hotel, and this was it. I take seriously the responsibility that comes with leading a hotel that has played such an important role in the special memories of so many. This is a one-of-a kind resort and I look forward to enhancing its well-earned reputation."

"I've known Gerard as a hospitality industry colleague for more than a decade," said Kathryn Weare, the resort's former owner. "I know that my family's legacy and the future of this magnificent resort are in very good hands."

The Cliff House Resort and Spa is situated on 70 oceanfront acres high atop Bald Head Cliff in Ogunquit, on the south coast of Maine. Each of the 166 guest rooms features a large, picture window and deck with views of the coast and the ocean. The resort offers fine and casual, ocean-view dining options with menus based on Maine-raised and locally grown products. The main dining room serves breakfast and dinner daily. The Ocean Terrace serves lunch and dinner daily, while the Spa Pool Bar offers lunch and cocktails. Meeting facilities include 13,000 square feet of meeting space with a 150-seat amphitheater. For weddings and social occasions, The Cliff House can accommodate up to 225 guests and offers spectacular settings for once-in-a-lifetime ceremonies and photographs.

Maine's first oceanfront spa, The Cliff House Spa, features 10 treatment rooms offering services using indigenous Maine ingredients, such as blueberries, juniper and wild roses, as well as a 2,500 square foot fitness center, 75-foot indoor lap pool, whirlpool, steam and sauna. The resort also features an oceanfront, vanishing edge swimming pool and labyrinth based on the labyrinth at the 13th century cathedral at Chartres.
