JACKSONVILLE, Fla.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Wounded Warrior Project® (WWP) announced two industry leaders are joining the organization’s Board of Directors: Richard M. Jones, Senior Vice President, General Tax Counsel and Chief Veteran Officer, CBS Corporation; and Robert L. Nardelli, founder and CEO of investment advisory firm XLR-8 LLC and former chairman and CEO of both The Home Depot and Chrysler LLC.

Richard M. Jones, Senior Vice President, General Tax Counsel and Chief Veteran Officer, CBS Corporation, is responsible for worldwide tax planning for the company. He is also a veteran, having served the country as a non-commissioned officer of the U.S. Army’s 75th Ranger Regiment and 10th Mountain Division. Jones’ long-running career includes more than 25 years in media and entertainment tax law with major corporations and consulting groups. He is admitted to practice law before various state courts and the District of Columbia and is licensed to practice before the U.S. Supreme Court and U.S. Tax Court.
Robert L. Nardelli brings more than 40 years of business experience in a variety of sectors to the Wounded Warrior Project Board of Directors. In addition to managing XLR-8, he is senior advisor to the chief executive officer of Cerberus Capital Management LP and senior advisor to Ernst & Young, the international accounting and consulting firm. In addition to serving as chairman and CEO at Chrysler and at The Home Depot, Nardelli built a distinguished career in leadership roles in a number of U.S. companies, including General Electric Co. and Case Corp. As a civic-minded executive, Nardelli has chaired the Atlanta Board of Visitors of the Savannah College of Art and Design and served on President Bush’s Council on Service and Civic Participation. He has also served on advisory boards at the University of Louisville and Western Illinois University.
The WWP Board of Directors is responsible for guiding the organization, providing strategic and financial oversight, including preparation of the non-profit’s audited financials and the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) Form 990. The Board and its four committees meet three times a year, and board members are not financially compensated for their participation. Jones and Nardelli will become full voting members at the September Board of Director’s meeting, and both filled existing vacancies on the Board.
