FALLS CHURCH, Va.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--The U.S. Department of Homeland Security’s (DHS) Customs and Border Protection (CBP) awarded CSC a single-award blanket purchase agreement (BPA) to provide financial systems support services including next-generation capabilities. The BPA and first task order, signed in the third quarter of CSC’s fiscal year 2014, have a one-year base period and four option years. The BPA, awarded under the General Services Administration’s (GSA) schedule 70 contract, has an estimated total value up to $86 million, and the first task order has an estimated total value of $31 million.
Under the first task order, CSC will provide operations and maintenance of financial systems and functional support, including help desk, user training, upgrades and enhancements, to CBP’s 5,000 SAP users. As part of the BPA, CSC will also assist in the development and implementation of new financial systems, including a shared services model across DHS.
As a result of CBP’s success with SAP and its reputation within DHS as a leader in financial management and systems, CSC will help the agency establish a CBP shared services program for interested DHS organizations and components. This program includes functional systems expertise to plan, develop/configure, implement transition and support those components with the desire and approval to utilize CBP’s integrated financial systems solutions.
"CSC's understanding of CBP’s mission, combined with our success in delivering SAP functionality to federal agencies and global organizations will drive IT efficiencies and cost savings for CBP's financial systems," said Catherine Kuenzel, vice president and general manager of CSC’s North American Public Sector Homeland Security and Civil Agencies Group. "CSC will also leverage its significant expertise in business process services to design and implement a financial shared services model for CBP and across DHS."
