MELBOURNE, Fla. & ORLANDO, Fla.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--(Harris Booth #1164) – Harris Corporation (NYSE:HRS), an international communications and information technology company, launched an advanced integration platform for healthcare providers worldwide during the Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society (HIMSS) conference being held February 23-27 in Orlando, Florida.
Harris’ FusionFX® is an integrated suite of software tools that securely brings together patient information from across the entire continuum of care and makes it available to clinical teams for value-based, accountable and coordinated care.
A modular solution built on a vendor-neutral, open-services platform, FusionFX seamlessly integrates with leading electronic health record and other legacy systems to help healthcare systems fortify their existing IT infrastructure without costly system replacements. The solution advances Harris’ previous interoperability platform by incorporating a new service-oriented architecture foundation that makes it easy for community-wide integration of patient information. FusionFX also strengthens its context management, provider portal and referral-management components, while adding a patient portal and secure messaging across care teams and with their patients.
"As a large integrated health system that has rapidly advanced in value-based care delivery to achieve the Triple Aim, an approach to optimizing health system performance, we are deploying Harris' FusionFX as the core information infrastructure for our large Medicare accountable care organizations and clinical integration programs that involve more than 1,000 physicians," said Dr. Richard Ferrans, system vice president and chief medical officer, Clinical Integration and Accountable Care for Chicago-based Presence Health. “Harris’ platform gives us the innovative foundation to extend that IT investment to wherever the patient receives care.”
FusionFX aggregates and synthesizes healthcare data from diverse entities to produce a single, 360-degree view of the patient using tightly integrated modules:
- A strong clinical integration foundation that contains core elements such as a clinical data repository, enterprise master patient index, integration engine and requisite security, auditing and policy components. It also supports the Direct protocol for secure messaging.
- A provider portal that supports clinical workflow for providers within a health system or affiliated providers in the community.
- A patient portal that helps address Meaningful Use requirements and supports greater patient engagement, satisfaction and care. It may be integrated as an option or health systems may elect to use their existing patient portal.
- The opportunity to integrate Harris’ Business Intelligence and Analytics solution. Health systems also may use their existing analytics solution in conjunction with FusionFX.
“As healthcare moves from a volume-based, fee-for-service model to one based on value, health systems need a highly flexible and scalable interoperability platform that connects them to the community,” said Vishal Agrawal, M.D., president, Harris Healthcare Solutions. “Harris designed FusionFX so patients and their care teams can use technology to collaborate in innovative ways.”
Harris supports FusionFX with comprehensive services and a proven systems-integration methodology deployed by highly skilled, certified technology and integration specialists who handle every facet of implementation and project management.
A nationally recognized leader in healthcare IT integration, Harris offers a full range of interoperability solutions, including IT infrastructure and management, clinical workflow and analytics, health information exchange, and imaging. Harris solutions improve healthcare quality, safety, efficiency, cost and outcomes by ensuring that the right information travels with security and privacy to the right location, at the right time, on the right device, at the point of care.
