RESTON, Va.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Oceus Networks Inc., the market leader in delivering mobile 4G LTE broadband networking solutions, announced today that its President and Chief Operating Officer, Randy Fuerst, was named to Federal Computer Week’s (FCW) 2014 Federal 100. Presented to government, industry and academic leaders who have played pivotal roles that affect how the federal government acquires, develops and manages IT, the Federal 100 is a prestigious list now celebrating 25 years that recognizes individuals who have made a difference in the way technology has transformed their agency or accelerated their agency’s mission. This is the first time Fuerst has been named to the list.
Fuerst was recognized for his leadership on many of Oceus Networks’ key 2013 initiatives, including his involvement with and support of NAVAIR, the FCC Deployable Aerial Communications Architecture (DACA) initiative and multiple Department of Defense (DOD) deployments of Oceus Networks’ military-grade deployable LTE solution, Xiphos™.
“We are incredibly proud of Randy for his inclusion in the Federal 100 as well as his continued dedication and contributions to Oceus Networks,” said Douglas C. Smith, Chief Executive Office, Oceus Networks. “The initiatives for which Randy received this honor, particularly being the first company to successfully deliver deployable 4G LTE networks, including secure handsets for the DOD and First Responders, have helped position Oceus Networks as a thought-leader in the industry.”
“I am very honored and humbled to receive this recognition of achievement from our Industry,” said Fuerst. “In reality, this recognition by my peers has nothing to do with me alone, but has everything to do with the dedicated group of men and women at Oceus and our collective accomplishments in delivering secure tactical mobility solutions to our clients.”
Federal 100 winners are nominated by FCW readers and selected by an independent panel of judges. The 2014 Federal 100 includes 22 individuals from the private sector, two from academia, and 76 from the federal government – with 52 in civilian agencies, 22 in defense and two from Capitol Hill. The 2014 winners will be celebrated by their peers at the annual black-tie Federal 100 Awards Gala, to be held March 20th at the Washington Hilton in Washington, D.C.
