DENVER--(BUSINESS WIRE)--The Colorado Statewide Internet Portal Authority (SIPA) and its partner, Colorado Interactive dba Colorado.gov, have invited four Colorado agencies to participate in a pilot for the new Drupal platform called Pacific.
The purpose behind the Pacific pilot is to gain case studies that provide specific insight on how to best move forward with the migration of all other content management system (CMS) websites hosted on Colorado.gov. The four agencies, Colorado Department of Health Care Policy and Financing (HCPF), Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment (CDPHE), Colorado Department of Labor and Employment (CDLE), and the Department of Revenue (DOR), were selected to participate based on the dynamics that their particular websites will add to the case studies.
“We are thrilled to move into the next phase of our Pacific migration and the positive response we have seen since the introduction of the new Pacific platform has been an overwhelming success,” said Statewide Internet Portal Authority Executive Director John D. Conley. “Our goal is to provide the best experience possible as we migrate all of the existing Colorado.gov websites to the new platform and this pilot program will allow us to establish best practices to better serve our government partners,” added Conley.
The pilot agencies will be responsible for their site creation, design, content, conducting user interviews, attending trainings and ultimately, unveiling their new website. SIPA and Colorado.gov will be gathering feedback at every stage to provide assistance and determine what changes may be needed to move forward with the next stage of migration.
“These agencies will play a big part in the success of the project,” said Colorado Interactive General Manager Fred Sargeson. “Having their comments and work experience with Pacific will help us to establish the best path for moving forward and migrating the two hundred plus CMS websites that are currently hosted on Colorado.gov.”
A full training curriculum for the Pacific platform, including videos and documentation, will be available beginning on February 12, 2014 at https://Colorado.gov/goingpacific. Agencies will use this curriculum to learn the new platform during their migration.
