ANN ARBOR, Mich.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Truven Health Analytics™ today announced that FirstHealth of the Carolinas has selected Truven Health Unify™ which enables providers to manage the health of their populations. FirstHealth is a four hospital, not-for-profit network serving 15 counties in the mid-Carolinas. They will use the Truven Health Unify solution to connect and analyze disparate clinical and administrative data for use in outcomes reporting, population health analytics, and gaps in care reporting.
“We are very pleased to partner with FirstHealth as an early adopter and development partner for our Unify solution. Truven Health has over 30 years of experience in harmonizing data from many sources, and we look forward to applying this expertise to integrate diverse data from across FirstHealth’s network of hospitals, clinics, and other healthcare providers,” said Mike Boswood, president and CEO of Truven Health Analytics.
Truven Health Unify will synchronize FirstHealth’s hospital clinical and administrative data, such as medical and prescription claims, office visits, and hospital billing, with clinical source data such as hospital EHRs, physician office EHRs, and care notes, to help providers more accurately manage overall population health. Unify enables users to track specific patient populations for which they are accountable, capturing patient outcomes, process of care, and utilization patterns at the individual physician, provider group, hospital, and health system levels.
“We are thrilled to work with Truven Health Analytics to help leverage our many sources of clinical and administrative data to help us manage more effectively and, ultimately, to improve outcomes for our patients,” said David Dillehunt, FirstHealth Chief Information Officer. “By partnering closely with Truven on the implementation and development of their Unify solution, we look forward to pioneering several best practices for effective population health management.”
“The Truven Health Unify solution converts millions of disparate clinical and administrative data points into actionable information,” said Roy Martin, executive vice president and COO of the Truven Health Analytics commercial business. “Further, Unify will provide FirstHealth with critical and timely insight into patient health status and detailed metrics on chronic disease management across the continuum of care.”
