Pennsylvania Major Metro Regions Private Projects Increased 9.8% Year-Over-Year, BidClerk 4th Quarter 2013 Data Shows

Total contract values for the Pennsylvania major metro regions are over $14.5 billion for 2013, BidClerk Construction Index™ Finds

CHICAGO--()--For the Pennsylvania major metro regions, 4th quarter 2013 BidClerk data showed that total contract values topped out at $3.4 billion in the 4th quarter of 2013, compared to $14.5 Billion for all of 2013. BidClerk also found that private projects increased 9.7% in the 4th quarter 2013, in a year-over-year comparison. In 2013, BidClerk reported on more than 6,500 actively bidding opportunities within Pennsylvania major markets.

For the city of Philadelphia, 4th quarter 2013 BidClerk data showed a year-over-year increase of 27% for new actively bidding construction projects. Private projects increased 23% in the 4th quarter in a year-over-year comparison, and public projects increased 28.5% during the same period. Total contract values for Philadelphia topped out at $5.7 billion in 2013. BidClerk reported on more than 3,500 actively bidding opportunities in the city.

For the city of Pittsburgh, 4th quarter 2013 BidClerk data provided $470 million in actively bidding construction projects, compared to $1.2 Billion in active construction contracts in the 3rd quarter of 2013. Total contract values for Pittsburgh topped out at $3 billion in 2013. BidClerk reported on more than 1,500 actively bidding opportunities in the city.
