Located at 5454 South Shore Drive, Shoreland is the first residential building in the city of Chicago to offer internet access with up to 1Gbps of speed. Fiber optic cables were laid and connected by American Wireless Broadband, a technology company based in Chicago, Illinois; and on Friday, November 8, 2013 all residents were able to access the upgraded internet speed through their pre-wired apartments.

We can also get much better picture quality while watching streaming services like Netflix,” said Maurio Fiore, a University of Chicago Law Student.
Shoreland, a former hotel and University of Chicago dorm, is a LEED-certified apartment building offering studio, one- bedroom, two-bedroom, and three-bedroom apartment rentals. Designed by Jeanne Gang and Studio Gang Architects, Shoreland offers stunning views of Lake Michigan and the downtown skyline, in-unit washer and dryers, game room, a library, and indoor parking.
