CARDFREE CEO Jon Squire Offers Insights on Apple Moving into Mobile Payments; What It Means for Merchants

--()--CARDFREE:

What:

Apple CEO Tim Cook gave the payments industry the small piece of affirmation that it has been waiting for during last week’s earnings call. The company seems primed to enter the mobile payments arena. With hundreds of millions of credit and debit cards on file, and the earned trust of merchants and consumers, Apple has an advantage over other companies vying for mobile payments leadership. To date, Apple has been a large part of the reason that near field communication (NFC) technology has not taken off, hindering options for mobile payments success; finally, this may change.

Jon Squire, CEO of CARDFREE, is available to discuss this competitive landscape, and how Apple could become a prominent player in mobile payments. Squire suspects that Apple will have to move beyond current systems and existing payment rails to begin driving revenue from mobile payments.
