Ryder Appoints Gary Allen Vice President of Engineering

MIAMI--()--Ryder System, Inc. (NYSE: R), a leader in commercial transportation and supply chain management solutions, announced today that Gary Allen has been appointed Vice President of Engineering. In this role, reporting to President of Global Supply Chain Solutions (SCS) John Williford, Mr. Allen is responsible for overseeing the Supply Chain Engineering team, including Quality, Program Management, and Engineering, to support business development and existing operations for the overall SCS organization.

Mr. Allen has more than 24 years of experience in supply chain services. He joins Ryder from Ernst & Young LLP, where he led the company’s logistics consulting practice. Prior to Ernst & Young, he spent seven years with Exel where he had various leadership roles in product development, solution design, operational excellence, sustainability, and partner innovation.

Mr. Allen helped launch and co-author the “Annual Third Party Logistics Study” with Dr. John Langley from Pennsylvania State University, and has been recognized throughout the industry in both publications and public speaking engagements. He received his Bachelor of Arts in Materials and Logistics Management from Michigan State University.
