Ansell Demonstrates Effect of Antimicrobial Surgical Glove at Arab Health

New research proves Gammex® AMT glove reduces bacterial regrowth by 95%

DUBAI, United Arab Emirates--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Ansell, a global leader in protection solutions, is present at the Arab Health fair in Dubai this year with significant new results proving the efficacy of its Gammex Anti-microbial Technology surgical gloves.

A randomized, double-blind, single-center trial, published in the journal Surgical Infections confirmed that surgeons wearing the Ansell Gammex PF AMT glove had 20 times less bacteria on their hands after two hours of surgery. Re-growth of hand bacteria (including MRSA and s. aureus) was prevented by 95%. As the majority of glove punctures go unnoticed, the glove may contribute to reducing the occurrence of surgeon-to-patient surgical site infections (SSI). Protecting wearer and patient alike, the Gammex PF AMT represents the next step in prevention in the OR.

The Gammex PF AMT antimicrobial surgical glove is unique in that it incorporates an active antiviral, antimicrobial layer in a conventional surgical glove.
