SAN FRANCISCO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--National top 100 law firm Gordon & Rees is adding Southern California partners Miles Scully and Roger Mansukhani to the firm's name. The honor recognizes Scully’s and Mansukhani’s contributions to the firm's meteoric growth from a 100-attorney California law firm 13 years ago to a national powerhouse with more than 500 attorneys and 30 offices from coast to coast. Scully, 51, led the creation and execution of the expansion plan, while Mansukhani, 46, has never lost in trial or arbitration and has been critically involved in the national expansion.
"Being among the fastest-growing firms in the country doesn't happen by accident," said managing partner Dion Cominos, "and contributors like Miles and Roger have helped us achieve our goal of building a national platform to service clients throughout the country in a cost-effective and responsive fashion. As a result, our firm is able to compete for work with the best firms in the country at a significantly better price."
Founder Stu Gordon added, "We celebrate the firm's 40th anniversary this fall and are pleased to both honor our past and our future." Co-founder Don Rees said, "This action illustrates where we came from and where we are going."
Scully said he expects the firm to be ranked in the top 10 in the next five to 10 years. "Clients want good quality and good value and we have heard them. When you give clients what they want, growth is inevitable."
Mansukhani said a relentless focus on client service, winning and responsiveness has allowed the firm to distinguish itself from the crowd. "So many firms are closing their doors, but clients remember those who answer the phone, give good advice and get superior results." Communication at every level is the key.
Gordon & Rees was founded in 1974 in San Francisco by former Cal baseball player Stu Gordon and Stanford graduate Don Rees. Scully joined the firm in 1988 out of law school and moved to San Diego in 1992 after the firm opened its first branch office. Mansukhani joined that office in 1994 and Scully took over as the office managing partner in 1999. Within five years, San Diego had more than 50 attorneys and it is now the largest office in the firm and the largest of the NLJ 350 firms located in San Diego.
After growing throughout California, the firm took its plan nationwide in 2004. The firm is now ranked 95th on the list of America's largest law firms by The National Law Journal and 21st on The American Lawyer Diversity Scorecard.
The firm, which will remain known in the marketplace as “Gordon & Rees,” will officially be named Gordon Rees Scully Mansukhani, LLP. The firm expects to continue with its expansion plans in strategically key areas where it can be of further service to its clients.
