WOODLAND HILLS, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--NetZero Wireless, Inc., a subsidiary of United Online, Inc. (NASDAQ: UNTD), announced today that NetZero Mobile Broadband has launched across Sprint’s 3G wireless network and is now available to customers nationwide. In July of 2013, the company signed a five-year agreement with Sprint to offer the NetZero Mobile Broadband service via Sprint’s nationwide 3G network, and ultimately via Sprint’s 4G LTE network. The company plans to expand across Sprint’s 4G LTE network sometime in the third quarter of this year.
“Expanding the availability of our mobile broadband service over the Sprint network gives us a much more robust presence nationally, allowing us to offer coverage to millions of additional customers,” said Rusty Taragan, President of NetZero Wireless. “There have always been a lot of great reasons to use NetZero Mobile Broadband and this expanded coverage adds another to the list. We launched our NetZero Mobile Broadband service in 2012 with a variety of value-priced monthly plans that did not require contracts or commitments and gave our customers the ability to change their plan at any time. And now, along with all those great features, we are able to serve customers in additional areas of the country that are covered by Sprint’s 3G network. This new coverage expands our NetZero Mobile Broadband coverage to more than 276 million people.”
“Being able to offer NetZero Mobile Broadband to customers nationwide is the next step in the ongoing evolution of the NetZero brand,” added Francis Lobo, President and Chief Executive Officer of United Online. “NetZero has been a leader in value-priced Internet access for over 13 years, and we take pride in offering our customers a quality service at a great price.”
NetZero Mobile Broadband is a secure, mobile Internet service for laptops, iPad® and other tablets, and netbooks. NetZero Mobile Broadband subscribers are not required to sign a contract, can join on a month-to-month basis, can cancel at any time, and never have to pay overage charges.
There are four value-priced NetZero Mobile Broadband plans through Sprint’s 3G network to choose from, each of which works with the NetZero Hotspot™ device. New customers can even try the service free for up to one year with the purchase of a NetZero Hotspot.
