VIRGINIA BEACH, Va.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--The Amerigroup Foundation contributed a total of $40,000 to nine local organizations throughout Kansas in 2013.
“From fostering independence for those with disabilities to providing nutritional education programs, the organizations we supported this year are doing meaningful work in our local community,” said Laura Hopkins, Amerigroup Kansas president. “We are pleased to fund services that are in direct alignment with and impact the financially vulnerable Kansans we serve.”
The following nine organizations received grants in 2013:
- Blue Ridge Parkway Counseling Services
- Cross-Lines Community Outreach
- CLASS, Ltd.
- E. Cowley County Resource Center
- Mid-Kansas Community Action Program
- Mitchell County Regional Medical Foundation (MCRMF)
- United Community Services of Johnson County
- United Methodist Mexican American Ministries
- United Methodist Open Door
“The generous donation from the Amerigroup Foundation is helping Mitchell County Regional Medical Foundation achieve our dream of opening a hospitality house next to our hospital,” said Susan Concannon MCRMF executive director. “Someday soon, out-of-town patient families will have a place to stay while their loved ones are hospitalized.”
