MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Co-hosted with Stanford Hospital & Clinics and Oracle Health Sciences on January 27–28, the seventh Personalized Medicine World Conference (PMWC) 2014 Silicon Valley is delighted to have Jay Flatley, CEO of Illumina, as this year’s PMWC Luminary Award recipient.
PMWC chose to honor Jay Flatley for his dynamic leadership in fueling the advancement of personalized medicine for over 15 years. Jay’s vision has helped Illumina’s technologies reach best-in-class status. In addition to enabling the adoption of next-generation sequencing and array-based solutions in research and clinical settings, Illumina has moved the industry forward with its MiSeqDxTM system, the first next-generation sequencing system to receive FDA 510(k) clearance.
“We are proud to provide tools and technologies that enable researchers and clinicians to unlock the power of the genome to improve human health,” said Jay Flatley. “PMWC provides a great venue to showcase the impact of genomics in improving health care and engage the leaders of this field to further its development.”
According to Dr. Laurence Marton, the PMWC program chair, “Sequencing technologies continue to improve, along with substantially decreased costs, greater accuracy and improved analytics. We are excited to have Jay Flatley and others who have contributed to this continued advancement in technology at PMWC 2014.”
PMWC 2014 will gather close to 1,000 multidisciplinary attendees and key stakeholders from the business, government, health care delivery, research and technology arenas to examine the advances and challenges of personalized medicine through a practical lens. The conference platform features four parallel tracks (industry leader, company showcase, emerging company competition, and patient education) in addition to an exhibition area.
