Foundation for Chiropractic Progress to Participate at 2013 IHC Forum West

2013 IHC Forum West

CARMICHAEL, Calif.--()--The Foundation for Chiropractic Progress (F4CP), a not-for-profit organization dedicated to advancing public awareness of chiropractic care, will sponsor William Meeker, D.C., MPH, president, Palmer College of Chiropractic-West Campus, as a speaker at the 2013 Institute for HealthCare Consumerism Forum West (IHC Forum West), December 5-6, 2013, in Las Vegas, Nev. On December 6, 2013, 10:30 a.m. - 11:30 a.m., the F4CP will support the workshop, “Saving Employers Money – One Back Surgery at a Time,” which will host a discussion around musculoskeletal conditions and how to optimize associated cost savings and patient outcomes.

“Musculoskeletal conditions are the leading cause of disability worldwide on account of prevalence and cost,” states Dr. Meeker. “When the first line of treatment is non-invasive care, the total cost of care can be greatly reduced. Research claims that patients under chiropractic care are significantly less likely to undergo surgery and experience 40 percent lower costs per episode compared to those under medical care.”

Dr. Meeker is a seasoned healthcare professional who has been involved in the integrative healthcare and complementary and alternative medicine (CAM) communities for over 30 years. He has served in positions including vice president of research at Palmer College of Chiropractic and director of Palmer Center for Chiropractic Research (PCCR). Throughout his career, Dr. Meeker has received awards, such as the American Public Health Association’s Lifetime Achievement Award and the American Chiropractic Association’s George B. McClelland Researcher of the Year Award.

The IHC Forum West is the only conference series that is 100 percent dedicated to healthcare consumerism. To learn more, visit: www.theihccforum.com.
