BOSTON--(BUSINESS WIRE)--ConnectEDU, a technology company helping students make connections between education and career, is now working with numerous states on education initiatives spanning college and career planning, professional development, and statewide assessments.
“The high school class of 2027 has already begun elementary school,” said Evan Nisonson, CEO of ConnectEDU. “States are investing in programs to ensure these students get a high-quality, purpose-built education. Whether through earlier college and career planning, development tools for educators, or assessments that provide real-time data on student progress, the states we are working with are pioneering the future of education.”
College and Career Planning
Massachusetts, Hawaii, and Michigan are amongst the statewide implementations of Connect!, a platform that allows students to take early ownership of their education and career decisions through interactive tools for career exploration, goals articulation, high school course planning, and connecting to postsecondary and vocational opportunities:
- Massachusetts’ YourPlanForTheFuture enables students, parents, and school counselors to collaborate in mapping students’ pathways toward postsecondary education and career success. Since 2009, 49 percent of all high schools in the state have elected to implement the tool as their core college and career planning tool, facilitating the collaboration of more than 153,000 students and their families.
- Hawaii’s MyFutureHawai’i platform allows learners to align their academic performance and future aspirations with college and career opportunities that make sense. The tool helps drive students’ individual plans to support the State’s 2025 goal of 55 percent of Hawaii’s working age adults possessing a two- or four-year college degree.
Professional Development
The Texas Education Agency (TEA) implemented ConnectEDU’s Professional Development Community to provide continuous development and collaboration to teachers across all districts of Texas. The online learning forum is available to every K12 teacher and allows them to share best practices and course materials to inform lesson planning, curriculum development, and teaching expertise.
Statewide Assessments
ConnectEDU is also a partner in helping deliver statewide assessments to improve algebra readiness for public and charter schools in Texas. In partnership with the TEA and their regional centers, the assessments measure students’ fundamental algebra understanding in the fall, then benchmark progress throughout the school year. The results allow teachers to identify students who are in need of additional instructional support.
Statewide implementations are customized to meet states’ specific needs. For more information on how ConnectEDU can support statewide education initiatives, please visit http://www.connectedu.com/solutions/K12
