Netskope Ranks CrashPlan #3 Out of 2,600 Cloud Applications Evaluated for Enterprise-Readiness

Inaugural Netskope Cloud Report also ranks CrashPlan #1 in cloud backup category

MINNEAPOLIS--()--Code42, developers of award-winning, endpoint data protection and management solutions for consumers, businesses and the enterprise, today announced that cloud app analytics and policy company Netskope ranked CrashPlan the third most-enterprise-ready cloud application (out of 2,600 evaluated across 50 categories) in its inaugural Netskope Cloud Report. Netskope also ranked CrashPlan the highest-scoring cloud-backup app overall.

According to Netskope Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Sanjay Beri, “We launched the Netskope Cloud Report to give IT and business decision-makers insights into cloud app risks, opportunities and usage trends that will help them make the most informed decisions. The top-scoring apps tend to address audit logging, granular role-based policies and separation of customers’ data in the cloud much better than bottom-scoring apps.”

Netskope bases its Cloud Report rankings on the Netskope Cloud Confidence Index™, a database of 2,600 cloud apps in which each app is assigned a score of 0-100 based on its enterprise-readiness across seven functional areas: identity and access control; file sharing; data classification; encryption; audit and alert; certifications and compliance; and disaster recovery and business continuity. The report is a quarterly account of cloud app intelligence and best practices from Netskope researchers, combined with aggregated, anonymous data from Netskope customers.

“Our customers are among the most prominent brands in the world, and they trust us to safeguard the mission-critical information that exists—often exclusively—on endpoints,” said Matthew Dornquast, co-founder and CEO of Code42. “Netskope’s thorough analysis validates what we and our customers already know: CrashPlan provides IT teams with a unique combination of features and technologies carefully architected to meet an enterprise’s most vital data protection needs.”
