OCEANSIDE, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Sealand Natural Resources Inc. (OTCBB: SLNR), a new product development company which manufactures, markets and sells functional beverages (Sealand BIRK), today announced Sealand Birk product has launched in Central Market grocery stores.
Central Market (www.centralmarket.com), a series of Texas stores owned by International food distributor, HEB, is well-known for its wide selection of high quality, premium foods and an enjoyable shopping experience for customers. Appealing to a market of consumers with distinguishing culinary taste, Central Market’s demographic is ideal for Sealand Natural Resources’ flagship product, Sealand BIRK. The all-natural, nutritional, birch tree beverage has already shipped and is now on Central Markets’ shelves.
Lars Poulsen, Chief Executive Officer of Sealand Natural Resources Inc., commented, “This is a really great fit for our product. Not only do we appeal to the same demographic as Central Market stores with health-conscious consumers who demand premium products with high quality ingredients, but also this is a chance for us to partner with a giant in the food market industry. HEB, Central Market’s owner, has a vast network of over 340 stores. We are hopeful that once Sealand BIRK is tested in Central Markets, we may have the opportunity to expand into HEB’s distribution network.”
The agreement with HEB increases Sealand BIRK’s exposure in the mid-western region of the United States just as the company’s agreement with Wegmans connected the product with the east-coast region. These strategic distribution agreements further the company’s short term plans to make the product available nationwide.
About HEB Company:
The story of H-E-B begins more than 100 years ago in a small, family-owned store in the Texas Hill Country. H-E-B opened the first Central Market in Austin in 1994. It was quickly dubbed “an amusement park for food lovers.” The European-style fresh market concept amazed shoppers and chefs alike, and the store quickly became one of Austin’s most popular tourist destinations. In fact, it boasts an average of 2 million visitors each year! Today H-E-B serves families all over Texas and Mexico in 155 communities, with more than 340 stores and 76,000 employees.
Our commitment to excellence has made us one of the nation's largest independently owned food retailers. Yet our success hasn't changed our commitment to exceptional service, low prices, and friendly shopping.
