DALLAS--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Cleantech IT firm Servergy Inc. announced today that it now supports the global OpenStack Foundation as a corporate sponsor. Servergy has developed a PowerLinux OpenStack distribution for scale-out applications that complements IBM’s scale-up PowerLinux solutions. The company leverages the OpenStack framework to manage access, identity and provisioning resources for its newly launched class of high I/O, PowerLinux Cleantech Servers® that offer high efficiency and high density.
“Servergy brings a great deal of experience in clean and green technology that allows hyper-efficient scale out to the OpenStack community,” said Jonathan Bryce, executive director of OpenStack. “Its contributions will enable data centers and enterprises to boost IT performance and overcome the growing power and space constraints that are challenging the industry today, globally. We look forward to advancing the mission of OpenStack with the support of Servergy.”
“After more than four years in the development stage, as a thought leader in Open Power, Servergy is delighted to align our Cleantech Servers with the OpenStack community,” said Bill Mapp, founder and CEO of Servergy. “We provide the clean and green hyper-efficient, high I/O, ‘scale-out’ technology that not only pays for itself, but complements IBM’s continuing investment in enterprise PowerLinux ‘scale-up’ solutions. Further it increases compute and I/O density by up to 16 times.”
The OpenStack Foundation promotes the development, distribution, and adoption of the OpenStack cloud operating system. The independent organization has attracted more than 8,800 individual members from 114 countries and 850 different organizations.
“By building resources on OpenStack, a powerful platform originally developed by NASA and Rackspace, we are taking the next step in working together with our top partner ecosystem, technology leaders and innovators to bring true new capability to data centers, enterprises and the PowerLinux community worldwide,” Mapp added.
Servergy is an IBM Business Partner and offers clean and green PowerLinux servers for scale out, globally.
