VENICE, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Co-founders Kenneth Hepburn (CEO) and Lee Hanson (VP Products) announced the launch of an innovative new online concept that is revolutionizing the accessibility of charitable giving. Now good food comes with a side of karma. When you create an account, and purchase a dining certificate on LivnGiv, 20% of your restaurant tab goes to your favorite cause at no extra cost to you.
Here's how it works. First go to www.LivnGiv.com. Then choose a cause you want to support. Next choose a restaurant where you would like to eat. Then choose a dining certificate amount, starting at $10.00. Present it to the restaurant when the bill comes. And Voila! You've just helped your cause of choice, while eating at a great place. Diners can also download the LivnGiv app, to access through their phones.
Love animals? Support breast cancer research? Only give to children's organizations? LivnGiv's diverse, local group of charity partners are all 4 and 5-star 501C3 certified, and examples include No Kid Hungry, Habitat for Humanity, The American Red Cross, The Dr. Susan Love Foundation, Best Friends Animal Society, Venice Family Clinic, Homeboy Industries. More partnerships are in the works.
LivnGiv is a fundraising platform that charitable organizations use to engage their donors (and diners) to reach their goals in a fun and entertaining way. There's also a Karma Points program, where diners can earn free meals for being a frequent user of LivnGiv.
On the dining side, examples of popular establishments who have committed to the cause include Piccolo Venice, Gjelina , Joe's and Le Zinque, all located in the hip community of Venice Beach, as well as Sonoma Wine Garden and Farmshop in trendy Santa Monica, and Colonial Wine Bar and Lexington Social House in Hollywood. Other restaurant partnerships are in the works.
"This is the first time people have been able to contribute money to causes for no cost, just by living their lives and going out to eat," said Kenneth Hepburn. "People like to spend their money with companies that give back. LivnGiv makes it effortless for them to do so. With the holidays coming up, it a great gift to give the diner, as well as the charitable organization."
“Gjelina partnered with LivnGiv because it allows us to give back to our community effortlessly, while staying focused on what we do best, serving our customers awesome food,” said Fran Camaj, founder and owner of Gjelina.
