Maria Gabriela Isler gives Venezuelan Beauty a New World Record

Cisneros and Miss Venezuela Organization Share the Joy of all Venezuelans

CARACAS, Venezuela--()--María Gabriela Isler won the Miss Universe crown in the Crocus City Hall of Moscow, Venezuela’s seventh victory in the pageant. During the ceremony, with 86 women from around the world taking part, the beautiful 25 year-old demonstrated her charm, talent and training, and received the maximum number of votes from the panel of judges, repeating Venezuela´s triumph four years ago when beauty queens Stefania Fernandez, Miss Universe 2009 and Dayana Mendoza, Miss Universe 2008, entered into the Guinness Book of World Records since it was the first time in history that a country had won the Miss Universe crown for two consecutive years.

“This new victory is immensely satisfying to all Venezuelans and we celebrate it with great joy and happiness within Cisneros and the Miss Venezuela Organization,” said Adriana Cisneros, CEO of Cisneros. “Our country has been an outstanding performer this year winning a new title of Miss Universe. This is an extraordinary testament to the beauty, talent and capability of Venezuelan women, which is well-known in every corner of the world,” she added.

“Each year our participants get the best training to face these pageants where competition is harder every day,” said Osmel Sousa, president of the Miss Venezuela Organization, who travelled to Russia with Maria Gabriela. “I must admit that the victory was not easy with so many great candidates, but I never underestimated the capabilities of Maria Gabriela,” he concluded.

Since she joined the Miss Venezuela pageant, Mr. Sousa always believed that Maria Gabriela possessed great potential due to her natural beauty and strong personal qualifications. Soon after winning the Miss Venezuela title, Maria Gabriela participated in several of Cisneros’ Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives including volunteer work at the Hospital San Juan de Dios in Caracas. Isler also took advantage of those activities to encourage other young people to become agents of change and give support to deprived sectors.

Venezuela will be remembered in history as the country with a record of beauty victories. To the consecutive triumphs of Dayana Mendoza and Stefanía Fernández in 2009 adds the previous victories of Alicia Machado, Barbara Palacios, Irene Sáez and Maritza Sayalero. Moreover, in 1981 the country captured both the Miss Universe and Miss World titles in the same year with Irene Saez and Pilin Leon respectively which gave the pageant worldwide notoriety.
