STAMFORD, Conn.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Castleton Commodities International LLC (“CCI” or “the Company”) today announced that CCI Energy Solutions (CCIES, has completed its first conversion project in New York City by partnering with Services for the UnderServed (SUS), a New York-based non-profit organization that supports individuals and families facing challenging life situations. The conversion to natural gas has been performed at no upfront cost to SUS and is expected to reduce its annual energy costs by more than 40 percent.
CCIES is a joint venture between CCI and Chesapeake Energy Corporation, the second-largest producer of natural gas in the U.S. CCIES’s energy efficiency solutions are designed to advance New York City's clean heat laws and initiatives, which require more than 9,000 residential and commercial buildings to convert to cleaner-burning fuel alternatives over the next two decades The cost-savings and environmental benefits of converting to natural gas are well established and the unique CCIES approach allows building owners to finance the conversion of heating systems to natural gas and implement other energy efficiency measures with no upfront investment.
“We are very excited to have completed our first natural gas conversion project in New York City,” said Richard Rapp, President and Chief Executive Officer of CCIES. “It is even more rewarding that our first project supports an outstanding organization like Services for the UnderServed by helping them reduce energy costs – cost savings that can be used to make a difference in the lives of many people.”
