RYE BROOK, N.Y.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Broadview Networks, a leading provider of cloud-based business communications services, has been selected to upgrade Cumberland County College’s communications with OfficeSuite®, its award-winning cloud-based business phone system.
When Cumberland County College, a New Jersey-based college serving more than 4,000 students across three campuses with flexible, innovative and high-quality programs, decided to move its network operations to a new building, the school’s IT staff was faced with a difficult decision. They could work with engineers, technicians and service providers to re-route all of the existing copper wiring to the new operations center, or find a better alternative.
Doug White, Cumberland’s Chief Technology Officer, began the search for a cloud-based solution to replace their costly, outdated phone system, which lacked many new and important features. White researched various cloud providers in an effort to find a system that would evolve with technology, save the school money and provide a seamless business continuity plan. After careful consideration, White and his team selected Broadview’s OfficeSuite® to ensure that Cumberland County College would achieve a fully-integrated communications system without breaking the bank.
“OfficeSuite was the best system we reviewed. It offered us all of the capabilities we wanted and was the most affordable,” White said. “Broadview ended up saving us tens of thousands of dollars, while still providing the robust and reliable communications system we need.”
Introducing OfficeSuite® also provided more flexibility for the college by linking the three campuses with one easy-to-use system. “Having the same phone system—the same look and feel at all three campuses—is a huge benefit,” said White. “All employees are in one directory and can be dialed from any location using a four-digit extension. The entire system can be managed from one website that we can access anywhere.”
OfficeSuite® allows businesses to redirect calls to other offices, mobile phones and home phones with the click of a button via Broadview’s web portal. The system also allows employees to use any phone at any office while maintaining their own extensions and personal preferences, including voicemail.
“The OfficeSuite twinning feature allows desktop and cell phones to ring at the same time,” explained White. “So, you can answer a call on your cell phone, walk across campus and pick up the call on your desk phone automatically—it’s a really nice capability that exists with the system.”
The OfficeSuite® website can be accessed from anywhere, allowing employees to make quick and easy updates to their settings and personal preferences. “There was only one person who understood our last system, but OfficeSuite is very intuitive,” noted White. “Everyone can make changes, and it brings a lot of flexibility to the faculty and staff. It just amazes me how seamless the implementation went, as well. I think almost any college would benefit from a system like OfficeSuite.”
