KING OF PRUSSIA, Pa.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--MRO Corp., a leading provider of technology-driven disclosure management services and applications for healthcare organizations, announces the release of two new integrated services within the company’s suite of HIE offerings:
- MRODirect, a standards-based platform for the Direct Secure Messaging (DSM) of protected health information (PHI); and
- MROGateway, a meaningful use certified patient portal platform through which providers can allow patients to view, download and transmit health information.
Healthcare organizations may leverage MRO’s ONC HIT 2014 Edition certified technologies for successful attestation of meaningful use Stages 1 and 2.
“As the demands on healthcare providers change, MRO continues to enable facilities with the latest disclosure management and HIE services, and MRODirect and MROGateway are natural extensions of our existing suite of solutions,” says Gavin Krumenacker, MRO’s vice president of HIE solutions and business development.
As a healthcare-specific email solution, MRODirect easily integrates with a provider’s overall disclosure management workflow and is a secure alternative to faxing documentation that contains PHI. Through implementing MRODirect, healthcare organizations are better equipped to meet meaningful use Stage 2 Transitions of Care objectives.
MRODirect adheres to federal HIT standards and supports CCD formats, and can integrate with third-party EMR platforms using SOAP + XDR/XDM protocols. MRODirect’s standard offerings include provider-branded domain names and DSM mailboxes for providers and healthcare systems. Through the system, providers can additionally integrate accounting of disclosure services, patient restriction filters, message disposition notification (MDN) and provider directory services.
MROGateway is the company’s meaningful use certified platform through which healthcare providers can offer a safe and secure online portal for patients to view, download and transmit discharge instructions, referral information and other requested health records.
The patient portals are able to integrate with a large variety of EMR systems and software platforms used for PHI disclosure management and can be custom-tailored so that the features, functionality and design meet each provider’s unique needs.
MROGateway enables healthcare providers to successfully attest to meaningful use by offering required tracking and reporting capabilities and providing a means to meet the following core Stage 1 and 2 criteria: Electronic Copies of Health Information; Electronic Copies of Discharge Instructions; Timely Access; and View, Download, and Transmit to a 3rd Party.
Adds Krumenacker, “Our new product offerings are simple and effective ways for clients to efficiently support transitions of care and to meet core criteria for successful meaningful use Stage 1 and 2 attestation while jump-starting actionable health information exchange across their organizations.”
