KYOTO, Japan--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Togetsutei Co., Ltd. (Kyoto-shi, Kyoto-fu: CEO Takuya Furukawa) will resume operating a part of “Kyoto Arashiyama Onsen Togetsutei” on October 10th. The hotel had been temporarily closed due to Typhoon No. 18.
The 2 facilities which will start business are “Hekisenkaku” and “Shuzankaku” with private open-air hot spring bath with a fabulous view of Arashiyama. Regarding “Togetsutei Annex Shofukaku” which is known for tofu and yuba (tofu skin) will reopen on November 1st.
Due to record heavy rain occurred by typhoon No.18 which hit on September 16th, our hotel’s first floor flooded, and most of the guest facilities were impossible to use. CEO Furukawa stated his comments regarding the resume of the hotel. “It was a difficult time for us, but we shared happy moments at the same time. With the encouragement from our guests, backup from the volunteers, efforts of the business partners, and support from the other hotels, we are able to resume a part of our business. We are extremely grateful for your kindness.”
Currently Arashiyama is almost back to normal, with 95% of the restaurants and hotels resumed business. On October 18th -20th, and 26th -27th, “Go Arashiyama Go!” event will take place to present with gratitude, the recovered Arashiyama. Also from mid-November to end-November, Arashiyama’s autumn color season will start.
