TAMPA, Fla.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Vitera Healthcare Solutions, the nation’s premier provider of ambulatory electronic health records (EHR) and practice management (PM) software and services, announced today that Vitera Intergy EHR has been tested and certified as a complete EHR under the Drummond Group's Electronic Health Records Office of the National Coordinator Authorized Certification Body (ONC-ACB) program.
The certification indicates that Vitera Intergy EHR, as one of a very small number of ONC 2014 Edition-approved solutions, is compliant in accordance with the criteria adopted by the Secretary of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.
Vitera continues to gain industry-wide recognition for leading the way in providing innovative solutions and services that help physician practices thrive and take advantage of regulatory changes ahead — including Meaningful Use incentives.
“This certification is a clear sign that Vitera is committed to preparing our customers for a profitable future,” said Matthew J. Hawkins, CEO of Vitera Healthcare Solutions. “Vitera’s achievement helps physicians benefit from new healthcare delivery and payment models, as their practices continue to leverage easy-to-use technology to improve profitability, office workflow and patient outcomes.”
Providers who initially attested for Meaningful Use Stage 1 in 2011 and 2012 are required to attest for Meaningful Use Stage 2 in 2014. To date, Vitera has helped 4,500-plus eligible medical professionals secure more than $118 million in Meaningful Use Stage 1 incentive payments.
In July, Vitera was ranked No. 1 in an EHR user satisfaction survey by impartial researcher Black Book Rankings, securing the top spot as the vendor most likely to address providers’ EHR replacement market needs — an essential consideration as practices assess whether their current software is able to comply with Meaningful Use Stage 2 requirements.
The Black Book ranking recognized Vitera as the EHR vendor with the highest likelihood of long-term viability.
Additionally, Vitera won the Frost & Sullivan 2013 Customer Value Enhancement Award. The global researcher and analyst presents the award each year to the company that demonstrates outstanding customer value and focuses on improving the return on the investment for its customers — in this case, physicians and their practices looking to thrive in a complex, changing healthcare environment.
“Healthcare is changing rapidly,” said Connie Moering, Practice Administrator for Coeur d’Alene Pediatrics, which earned $300,000 in Meaningful Use Stage 1 incentive payments with Vitera Intergy. “We needed a system that could change with it and give us the reporting capabilities and data to meet quality and performance-improvement measures now and into the future.”
Meaningful Use Stage 2 measures are more stringent than those previously adopted and require greater functionality from EHR software. Vitera had anticipated achieving certification in Q4 of this year, after attesting for 24 of the 43 measures required for Meaningful Use Stage 2 last spring.
Said Hawkins, “The Vitera team has dedicated itself to customer regulatory readiness and the development of industry-leading software that prepares practices for a new era of healthcare. We remain intensely focused on these priorities.”
