TOKYO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Japan, famed for its delicious oodles of noodles, will be whetting the appetites of Tsukemen (Japanese dipping noodles) fans with the Grand Tsukemen Fest this October 16 - November 6. This largest Tsukemen event to determine the No.1 Tsukemen shop in the nation is expected to attract a turnout of more than 200,000 fans who will get to slurp delicious bowls of Tsukemen from the 24 chosen finalists.
To share the Tsukemen festivities with English-speaking fans as well, an English version of the official website (http://dai-tsukemen-haku.com/en) has been created. Adding more global flavor is the participation of the two American guys behind the popular Japanese Ramen blog “Ramen Adventures” - Abram Plaut and Brian Macduckston - who will be serving as the event's ambassadors. Abram and Brian, who live in Japan and have been diligently crushing bowls of ramen for 15+ years throughout the country, will provide a bite-by-bite account of the final stages of the event to the world. At 11pm on September 21 (JP time), don't forget to tune in to the ramen debate Hangout on Air on Google+ which will be hosted by Abram and Brian in Tokyo connecting to California and Osaka and broadcasted live on YouTube. It will be a lively discussion among ramen enthusiasts from all over the world as they talk about just what makes a bowl of ramen delicious, that x-factor taste, where heavenly pockets of ramen-shops are located… and many more delicious nuggets of all things ramen/tsukemen.
So do swing by the 24 finalists stores during the Tsukemen Fest period if you happen to be in Tokyo. Besides the immense satisfaction gleaned from mouthfuls of silky noodles and broth, you will also get to cast your vote with each bowl of noodles purchased to help determine the ultimate Tsukemen shop in Japan. If you drop by during the weekends, you just might catch live performances from the Tsukemen idol group “Topping Girls Final” as they serenade fans eating/sealing the fate of this year’s No.1 Tsukemen shop in the nation!
